Taking applications

Northeast South Dakota Head Start Program Inc. which provides education, health and socialization services to preschool children, is taking applications for the Webster Center. Due to COVID-19, there will be no open house. To be eligible, a child must be three or four years of age by Sept. 1. There is no cost for families to be in the Head Start Program. For further information, contact Webster Center’s family service coordinator Bernie Kurkowski, 345-4994.

School registration

Webster Area School is taking registrations for preschool, prekindergarten and kindergarten. If you have not received a registration form in the mail, fill out a form online with the QR code or call the office, 345-4651 before March 11. There will be no open house/registration night.

Soccer registration

Webster Area Soccer Association’s spring soccer online registration opens March 8. Call Kerri Wagner, 695-1543 or Natalie Kuecker, 216-4559 for more information. Season runs April 13-May 20.

Fish fry

Knights of Columbus fish fries are Feb. 26, March 12 and 26 from 4:30-7 p.m. at Christ the King Parish Center, Webster. Dine in or call Mike Wambach, 216-0376; Tim Gaikowski, 881-5075 or Parish Center, 345-3838 for pick-up or delivery.

Council meeting

Webster City Council meets in the City Hall council room March 1, 6:30 p.m. Agenda includes surplus property, Coronavirus Grant Agreement for airport, correspondence from Code Enforcement, drinking water report, patrolman applications, advertise for bids, summer help, appointment for equalization board, petitions received for City Council and executive session if needed.

VSO closed

Day County Veterans Service Office, Webster will be closed the week of March 8-12 and reopen March 15.
