What's up


May 15 is the deadline to apply for one of 10 scholarships to be awarded to Webster graduates, based on need, who are starting their sophomore year or above in the fall of 2021. Resumes may be sent to Webster Alumni, PO Box 13, Webster, SD 57274 by May 15.

Water main flushing

Webster City Water Department will flush water mains starting April 19 on the east side of town. It may cause disturbance and/or rust in the lines.

Citywide cleanup

Webster’s citywide cleanup is April 26-29, weather permitting. Have acceptable items on the curb by the morning of April 26. See ad in this issue for more information on which items will not be picked up.

King of Clubs

Green Buffalo Club King of Clubs drawings are Saturday nights beginning April 17 at the Detour, Waubay. Ticket sales run 6-8:30 p.m. with the drawing at 8:45.


Buffalo Plains Historical Foundation has canceled the 2021 church service and luncheon due to COVID-19 concerns.

Special meetings

Webster Area School Board will have special meetings April 19, 6 p.m. and April 21, 5:30 p.m. Agenda items for April 19 include agent of record for insurance. Both evenings will include discussion on ESSER II, CTE/Boiler building info and executive sessions for negotiations.
