Soup and Santa

Webster-Dewangen Exchange Group will serve a soup luncheon Nov. 23, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Webster American Legion. Santa will visit from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Annual meeting

Strand-Kjorsvig Living Center and Strand-Kjorsvig Foundation annual meetings are Nov. 26, 7 p.m. in the basement of Roslyn Community Church. Chili and chicken soup supper will be served 5-7 p.m.

Thankful celebrations

Community Thanksgiving worship service is Nov. 24, 3 p.m. at United Methodist Church, Webster. Anyone wishing to join the community choir may attend rehearsals Nov. 20, 8:15 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Webster and prior to the service at 2 p.m. at UMC. Thanksgiving Day worship is Nov. 28, 9:30 a.m. at Heritage Village Chapel. Monetary offerings will support the Ministerial Association and nonperishable items go to Day County Food Pantry. Thanksgiving dinner is Nov. 28, 11:45 a.m. at the Golden Age Center, Webster. Reservations are encouraged through the Golden Age Center or Webster area congregation. No home delivery.

Pack a shoebox

Collection week is Nov. 18-25 for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. Drop off site is Westside Wesleyan Church, Bristol. See ad in this issue for times for each day. For more information contact Mary Fosness, 590-1899 or the church, 492-3635.

Open house

Christmas open house is Nov 23, 6-7:30 p.m. at Day County Arts Center, Webster. Event features Christmas crafts, lighting the Christmas tree, caroling and refreshments.

Stag party

Glacial Lakes Men’s Club mixed stag party is Nov. 30, 6 p.m.-1 a.m. at Roslyn Event Center. Meal served at 6:30.

Thanksgiving dinner

Thanksgiving dinner will be served Nov. 26, 5:30-7 p.m. at Bristol Pirate Activity Center hosted by Westside Wesleyan Church. RSVP by calling 492-3635 or email

Coat drive

Drop off new or gently used coats at the Dacotah Bank in Webster or Roslyn before Nov. 25. Coats will be disbursed at Day County Food Pantry starting Dec. 3.

Flag retirement

The public is welcome to bring worn flags to a flag retirement ceremony by Boy Scout Troop 33 Nov. 24, 1:30 p.m. at the south armory parking lot, Webster.

Support group meeting

Caregivers Support Group meeting is Nov. 18, 6 p.m. in the Heritage Village dining room. Theme is Gather with Grateful Hearts, helping manage the holiday hustle.
